Jimmy Adams
(971) New York Mets at (972) Toronto Blue Jays
The Mets took a loss they really couldn’t afford yesterday as they have a rigorous schedule to end the season. Unfortunately for New York, they have to face a pitcher in the series finale who has made his name known around the majors. Since becoming a starter Bowden Francis has been a dominant force to say the least. He went 4 straight starts allowing 1 run or none while going at least 7 innings in each and giving up 6 hits combined. Last time out Francis gave up 3 to Philly, but it was still a quality start and I see no signs of regression. Sean Manaea was just tagged for 4 and although he’s put together a nice season, he’s simply outmatched here. If New York is going to win this game it will have to come against the Toronto bullpen because Francis isn’t giving up anything to anyone. Take the Blue Jays F5.
