Our selection is on the Chicago Cubs

One of our favorite situations shows up here with the Rockies coming home to play the Cubs. The Rockies in less than 24 hrs have to play a Cubs team that is still fighting for a wild card berth. Colorado is off a 9 game road trip and the Cubs are just finished beating the big bad Dodgers in a series. In fact, the Cubs have won 8 out of their last 9 games on the road. They also had a day off in between series which makes this situational play that much stronger. They get a chance here to catch a Colorado club just happy to be home. The Cubs will send Javier Assad to the hill and Javier has had a decent season as his 3.14 ERA would suggest. He is coming off of a decent outing against the Yankees only allowing 1 earned run in 5 2 /3 RD innings. We all know Coors Field is a tough place to pitch but Assad should be able to keep the ball in play and have another good start. He did face these Rockies in Chicago this season and allowed no runs over 6 innings. We will look for history to repeat itself. The Rockies send Austin Gomber to the hill and Austin can be any type. Gomber was on the paternity list and has not pitched since September 5 TH. We will have to believe with the Rockies being one of the worse teams in baseball, Austin was probably more concerned about his family than hurrying back for a start. We believe that helps the Cubs here. What also helps is Austin is a lefty and the Cubs have had way more success against LH pitching compared to RH. The Cubs are in the process of making that one last push to make the playoffs. They are a desperate team with a great situational advantage in this one. We would also say they have a solid pitching advantage as well. One more thing we will add here is that the Cubs have a really large BP advantage as well. Colorado is last in MLB with their Bullpen. Chicago sits 9 TH. There are lots to like and the price is actually reasonable considering the situation. We lay it with the Cubs and make this a 5% Max Bet.
