DEGROM/ HANCOCK

We are a little shocked that this number is at 7. We know deGrom is one of the best pitchers in the last decade but that was in the early part of this decade. He has not pitched since April 2023. He will be on a strict pitch count tonight which will be somewhere around 60 pitches. He may get lucky to get out of the 4 TH inning. We are betting that he will struggle tonight and when we see a 7 with the Texas BP having to pitch at least 5 innings, we are all over that. They are ranked 24 TH in MLB. Now let’s look at Emerson Hancock. He has been in the minors for most of the year. He has been any type when pitching in the majors. In 2023 in 3 starts two of the starts were really solid. However, he pitched all of April this season and posted a 5.06 ERA. Emerson has made a few other starts this season but has not seen the majors since July 6 TH. We will bet that the desperate Rangers are able to get to Emerson tonight. In a perfect storm with deGrom throwing 5 lights out innings and Emerson having one of his better MLB starts and our total will be in trouble. However, we are so confident that it will not be a perfect storm and both teams desperate for wins will get some runs early. The line at 7 gives us a bunch of opportunities even in a pitcher’s park like Safeco. (It will always be Safeco to us). OVER it is.
