Expect Pittsburgh offense to wake up sooner than it did last week at Cincinnati when 22 point 2H rally gave them the win. Here at home in rivalry game Pitt likely motivated to get their new “high octane” brand out of the blocks immediately. Same goes for West Virginia which posted 28 1H points last week at home vs. Albany after scoring just 6 in weather disrupted opener vs defensively stout Penn State. Dynamic dual threat QB Garrett Greene should find Panthers defense which just yielded 449 ty (151 ry / 298 py) & 27 points (17 1H) to Cincinnati. Likewise for Panthers Freshman QB Eli Holstein who’s thrown for 333 & 302 along with 6 TD’s in his first two games as he encounters the nation’s 114th rated defense. Mounties defensive numbers not terribly skewed either as even Albany got them for 306 through the air last week. Pitt rattling off 77 plays per game at 19.9 seconds per (3rd fastest in FBS) so rotational depth of West Virginia will be tested in mid 80’s weather. Neither defense really qualified to stop the opposing offense here and key of 31 cashes a 1H ticket here. Like having key number available here in game where potential for 17 a side in the 1H exists.
