Two teams are battling for the Wild Card spot in the American League. Kansas City currently holds the 2nd Wild Card spot, while Detroit is 1.5 games behind Minnesota for the final Wild Card spot. Detroit sends Casey Mize to the mound, who has struggled in recent starts. In his last three starts, his ERA is 6.19, as he has allowed 11 runs in his last 15 innings of work. This year, when pitching at night, his ERA is 6.08, and his WHIP is a very high 1.51. He will be facing Cole Ragans, who has allowed 3 runs or less in 24 of his 30 starts this season. He has allowed 2 runs or less in 5 of his last 7 starts and is coming off an absolute gem, as he pitched 6 scoreless innings against Minnesota in a key playoff race game.
