972 Texas at LA Angels

Big starting pitching advantage for the Rangers with Jacob deGrom on the mound. But he’s only gone three innings or so in his first two starts, which means big innings for the Rangers bullpen. 

The Angels should be very motivated after just getting swept for the Chicago White Sox, one of the All-Time worst teams in the history of the sport. Reid Detmers takers the hill with a whopping 6.67 ERA and 1.54 WHIP on the season. But a closer look shows his xERA at only 4.14. In each of his last two starts he permitted 7 earned runs each to the Astros and White Sox. So there isn’t another pitcher in baseball who has wanted to get back on the mound like Detmers tonight. 

Texas won the World Series last year, and now are out of the playoffs. They have no motivation to finish the season strong.
