Analysis

4% Rotation #930: MLB Thursday 4% Milwaukee Brewers -118 vs New York Mets @ 7:08 ET - The road teams have gone 5-3 in the Wild Card round but the NL East teams that had to battle for the final spot with a double header on Monday are the two teams that combined for 3 of those losses. The Braves got swept by the Padres and the Mets lost yesterday after winning Game 1 on Tuesday. The key here for me is how the Mets lost yesterday. They had a 3-1 lead and then also still led 3-2 going to the bottom of the 8th. New York was just 6 outs away from punching their ticket to an NLCS match-up but then disaster struck. They gave up a solo bomb to tie it in the bottom of the 8th and then that was followed by a 2-run bomb in the same inning which led to a 5-3 Brewers comeback win. That kind of defeat is tough to came back from on the road. Plus, keep in mind, the Mets will be playing their 5th game in just 4 days while the Brewers are playing just their 3rd game in 4 days plus Milwaukee is at home! A lot of edges for the Brewers here and the Mets blowing their chance yesterday likely proves to be too much to overcome. Jose Quintana is a solid pitcher but has allowed 11 hits and walked 4 for 15 baserunners in his 9 innings versus the Mets this season. Also, Tobias Myers is 4-1 at home this season with a 2.86 ERA and .213 BAA in his 13 games (12 starts) at American Family Field. Myers has a 2.41 ERA since the start of June as the rookie rounded into form quckly at the MLB level. If he was on the road for this outing I might have concerns but at home and with his team having a ton of momentum as well as the more rested pitching staff overall, this is a great spot for a home blowout! 4% MILWAUKEE -118
