3% Rotation #51: NHL Friday 3% OVER 6 -130 in Buffalo Sabres vs New Jersey Devils @ 1:07 ET in Prague - The NHL season officially gets underway Friday with the NHL Global Series in Prague as the Sabres and Devils match-up there Friday and Saturday. I am going with the alternate total here to have this total at 6 goals. At DraftKings you can play the total at 6.5 goals and not lay any juice on the over. However, I do not want to get burned if this total lands on 6 goals with, for example, a 4-2 final. That said, I am going with the over 6 at a -130 price which is available as an “Alt Total” option at DraftKings. Note that the Devils are currently down a couple defensemen and also have a new goalie tandem with Markstrom joining Allen so don't expect things to be perfect right out of the gate in the Devils net. As for the Sabres, though Luukkonen played very well in the latter half of last season, this will still be his first ever start in a season opener. He has never been the #1 guy coming into the season at the NHL level. That said, we can expect some goals here and I like the fact that Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was fired by the Devils March 4th. He is going to be out for revenge here while the Devils also have a new coach this season Sheldon Keefe who was previously with Maple Leafs. Like he did in Toronto, he'll get plenty out of this New Jersey attack but his Leafs teams in most seasons certainly were not known for defensive prowess. That said, I like the ability to get the 6 at a reasonable price here in a game where I expect plenty of high-quality scoring chances. Devils attack well and Sabres, under Ruff's guidance, will also know how to best attack the Devils in this revenge battle. 3% OVER 6 -130 in Buffalo (in Prague)
