THE PLAY: Minnesota Timberwolves +4.0 (-108)
With Doncic, James and co. the Lakers obviously have a very formidable offense. However, Minnesota's Anthony Anderson may well prove to be the most dangerous player on the court. Anderson can knock shots down from the outside but he also loves to drive to the net. He's going to provide a real test for the Lakers' potentially suspect perimeter defense. Anderson and co. gained valuable postseason experience last year, including a sweep of the Suns in the first round. Expect them to give the Lakers all that they can handle in Game 1.
In addition to being this year's best handicapper, Ben Burns is the #1 NBA Handicapper of All-Time.
THE PLAY: Milwaukee Brewers -148 J Ginn (RHP), F Peralta (RHP) Must Start
The Athletics had no problem with the punchless White Sox. They swept the 3-game series, winning by a combined score of 23-4. A game against Peralta and the Brewers figures to be considerably more difficult. Peralata has a 2.31 ERA through his first four starts. He was dominant (1.13 ERA, 0.25 WHIP) in his lone home start as he allowed just two hits and one run, through eight complete innings. He struck out eight without issuing a walk. Ginn struggled on the road (7.00 ERA) last season and this will be his first road start this year. Brewers roll.
Ben Burns is WagerTalk's #1 Handicapper in 2025.
