I expect Madrid to show their superiority here as the defending champions likely get off to a winning start. Stuttgart is a tricky team to keep off the scoreboard but with their inexperience in this competition, I'm betting we see them struggle to find a comfortable footing in Spain.

Stuttgart has generated 7.3 xG in their first three Bundesliga matches, ranking 4th in the league behind other UCL teams Bayern and Leverkusen. However, in both away matches, one win and one loss, they allowed more than 2.0 xG to their opponents, Monchengladbach and Freiburg, two teams not even playing in any European competition. That spells big trouble against a team like Madrid.

Stuttgart's best chance at points here is to try and sit back and absorb pressure, but that is not their style. That leaves them either trying something they don't often do, or pressing forward against one of the most dangerous teams in the world. Both sound like bad ideas.
