THE PLAY: Oakland Athletics 115 Action
Take the Athletics (#975) (action)
MLB 'Daiiy Double' video posted below also has my take for Yankees - Guardians on Wednesday Night!
The A’s got crushed on their last homestand, losing five times in six games vs the Mariners and Yankees, outscored 47-20 in the process. That said, they’ve been MUCH better on the highway than at home this season. After yesterday’s win here in Chicago, the Athletics are now 17-8 in their last 25 road games. Manager Mark Kotsay gave us a nice ‘bet-on’ quote prior to yesterday’s win: “This homestand we were really punched in the face. We're going to go on the road and hopefully this group responds in a fashion they have in the past….Going out and getting on the road, that seems to be an area where we've played well. That's the mindset.” The Cubs are slumping worse than the Athletics, just 3-13 in their last 16 games – a lineup that just isn’t producing and a banged up pitching staff. This is an ‘action’ wager. I want the A’s tonight and have no hesitation fading Chicago even if we get a late pitching scratch for either squad. Take the Athletics.
THE PLAY: Total Over 218.5 (-110)
Take New York - San Antonio OVER (#501-502)
The Spurs have been an ‘Over’ team here in the playoffs. They’ve played with pace and they’ve executed offensively even against elite defensive foes like OKC. Yes, the Game 7 Over was a tough beat for Under bettors, but San Antonio is now 10-2 to the Over in their last dozen playoff games — the markets have not priced their offensive efficiency correctly in recent weeks. Meanwhile, the Knicks rank #1 in the playoffs in offensive efficiency. New York hung 114, 132 and 124 points on the Spurs in their three previous meetings this year, cashing Over 235.5 and Over 233.5 bets in the process; far higher than this Game 1 total for Wednesday. Expect points and pace throughout! Take the OVER.

Consultant Bio
Ted Sevransky (better known as Teddy Covers) moved to Las Vegas to bet on sports full-time back in 1998 and he's been doing it successfully ever since. During that time, Teddy has been featured prominently in the mainstream press. Print highlights include the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Las Vegas Review Journal and Playboy magazine. Television highlights include CBS This Morning, CNBC, PBS and Bloomberg TV. Teddy starred in the recent sports betting documentary Life on the Line and has been featured in an ESPN 30-for-30 and on Showtime's 'Action' miniseries.
Teddy is a 1992 University of Michigan graduate. His handicapping approach is fine tuned for the modern betting marketplace in 2025; a market that is dominated by stat-based quants - the ‘sharp money’. In one sentence, Teddy looks to identify and identify and isolate 'morphing' teams -- teams that are currently playing at a different level or pace (better or worse; faster or slower) than their long term statistical profile would indicate. Those become teams to bet on, bet against, bet over and bet under, until the quants catch up with current realities and value them correctly.
This ‘Ride the Hot & Fade the Cold’ approach has allowed Teddy to provide for himself and his family with steady income from his sports betting winnings, over nearly three decades. And those decades of experience grinding it out in Vegas enables Teddy to avoid many of the traps and pitfalls that befall ‘cappers. Experience DOES matter in this business. Teddy is one bettor who can handle the highs and lows of this sometimes zany and always exciting business with consistent, calm professionalism.
