THE PLAY: New England Patriots +1.5 (-110)
The Patriots +1.5 stand out as a sharp play in this AFC East matchup, with both matchup edges and historical systems backing New England. Miami looked completely disjointed in their Week 1 collapse, allowing the Colts to score 33 points while managing just 224 total yards themselves. Protection issues up front left Tua Tagovailoa exposed, and the Patriots’ pass rush, fresh off four sacks and an interception, projects to capitalize on that same weakness.
On the other side, New England’s offense showed flashes in the opener with QB Drake Maye moving the ball but stalling in the red zone. That inefficiency is less concerning against a Miami defense that just got struggled mightily, failing to stop the colts offense last week. Kayshon Boutte’s emergence and Hunter Henry’s reliable presence give Maye weapons to attack a vulnerable secondary, while TreVeyon Henderson offers explosive upside in the run game. With Miami’s defensive collapse, Tua’s turnover risk, and the Patriots’ defensive discipline, New England has multiple paths to stay within the number or win outright. Take the Patriots +1.5.
