Northwestern is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Michigan on this very field last week—a game they led in the fourth quarter before Michigan sealed it with a field goal in the final seconds. This spot screams “lose the same game twice.” We’re also getting an inflated line. Northwestern looked solid in that loss, while Minnesota was being blown out by Oregon. That game was played on Friday, giving the Gophers an extra day of rest—a subtle but meaningful edge. The line also bakes in Northwestern’s motivation. Sitting at five wins, they need one more to become bowl eligible. Detroit is off a loss and we know that Dan Campbell likes to play bully when he has a lead. Meaning if Detroit gets the lead in this game he won’t stop attacking. Detroit has been held to 24 or less in 4 of the L5 games but they played 4 good defenses KC, TB, Minnesota and Philly. The Philly game last week was played in windy conditions. The NY Giants are not a good defense allowing 3 of their L5 opponents to score 33 pts or more. The 2 that didn’t scored 24 and 27.

Detroit was embarrassed last week scoring only 9 pts partly due to weather, partly due to facing a good defense and mostly due to a dumb ass of a coach being pig headed. Dan Campbell was 0-5 on 4th downs. Now he will want to prove a point this week and run up the score indoors in perfect conditions. Detroit gets to 37 or more.

Penn St showed a ton of character last week as they showed up and played hard and won even after losing in a gut-wrenching fashion to Indiana the week before. With the season Penn St has had, they could have mailed it in last week, but they are playing hard for their interim HC. Nebraska has had 2 weeks to celebrate that win in the Rose Bowl, which was a big win for them and their new QB, TJ Lateef. UCLA really didn’t know what to expect in that game as it was his 1st start, and he played great, but facing the UCLA defense and the Penn St defense is the difference of night and day. Penn St also now has some game film to look at from that UCLA game. This is also the last home game for Penn St, and these players want to give their fans a win at home. As I said earlier, if this team was going to quit, it would have been last week on the road after the Indiana loss.

Marco D'Angelo has been a professional sports handicapper and bettor since 1980. Marco moved to Las Vegas in 2008. During the 2010 Baseball Season, Marco made handicapping history when he won a documented 25 Baseball Games in a row. Even more impressive was the fact that he never laid more than -120 in any of the 25 plays. The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, documented the 25-game winning streak. Marco is a 2 Time winner of Preferred Picks Wise Guy Football Contest. Marco's signature play is his College Football Game of the Year, as Marco has gone 26-8 with this game over his 34-year career.

Marco has been featured as a guest handicapper on several radio shows as he has been on ESPN regional and national shows, Yahoo Sports Radio, Sports Overnight America, as well as appearing on shows covering regional teams in both College and Pro sports.
