Plenty of reasons to like the Braves here. They are coming off a weekend sweep, here at home, over the Twins. Those bats finally woke up a little. 16 runs in the three wins. Meanwhile, St. Louis was on the wrong end of a sweep over the weekend. Lost all four games to the Mets. The Cardinals are now just 1-9 on the road.

Big picture: I’m still a buyer on the Braves this season. Not so much with the Cards. Now this is obviously a pretty massive price on the Braves to win today. So let’s reduce that juice just a little bit by cutting the game and half and laying the half run in the first five.

I understand Spencer Schwellenbach, for Atlanta, is coming off a bad outing. But, considering each of his first three starts saw him go at least six innings and allow 1 run or less, a bounce back seems likely tonight. Erick Fedde starts for St. Louis. Like Schwellenbach, he’s had three quality starts and one bad one. But what pushed me over the edge here is that Fedde is 0-6 lifetime vs. the Braves with an 11.03 ERA.
